Summer Camp 2017

Mansion Day School’s Summer Camp provides Preschool-5th grade students with a balanced camp experience that includes academics (reading, math, and writing) in the morning, while the afternoons are filled with water play (PS-K) or swimming at the YMCA (1st-5th), field trips, multicultural themes, and cultural assemblies.  Summer Camp is from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday with childcare starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 6:00 PM.

Payment Information

  • Please write your child’s name and the check’s purpose on the check memo line.
  • Please do not combine a tuition check with a fee check.
  • Please place all checks in the black box inside the main office.

 

Medical Information

  • All students are required to have proof of immunization on file on or before the first day of attendance.
  • All Preschool-Kindergarten students are also required to have a physical examination statement on file on or before the first day.

 

Sign-in Books

  • All parents must sign their child in and out DAILY in the lobby of the main office.
  • Academics begin each day at 9:00 AM.  Tardiness will cause your child to miss some academics because the teacher will not be able to reteach lessons due to time constraints.

 

Parent Folders

  • Each child has a parent folder in his or her classroom.
  • Please empty your child’s folder DAILY. It will contain your child’s work and important information for parents.

 

Lunches

  • A catering service will provide a hot lunch option throughout the summer.  Students may also bring a packed lunch (nut free) from home.
  • If your child brings a packed lunch, please include utensils and make sure the lunch is labeled and placed in the classroom lunch bin.
  • Students may NOT use the microwave to warm food. Please pack accordingly.

 

Water Play (PS-K) & Swimming at the YMCA (1st-5th)

  • Water Play for Preschool-Kindergarten students will be held at MDS two afternoons each week.
  • Free swim is offered at the Eldon Ward YMCA for all 1st-5th graders two afternoons each week.
  • Bring a swimsuit, water shoes, & towel in a labeled, waterproof bag.
  • Take wet clothes and towels home each night to prevent mold and mildew.
  • Please label street clothes and swimsuits with student’ name.

 

Change of Clothes

  • All students need a change of clothes at camp. Spills, mud encounters, potty accidents, and other unforeseen circumstances may cause unnecessary embarrassment.  Please keep your child’s clothes in a labeled bag in his or her camp cubby or locker.

 

Protect Those Feet!

  • Socks must be worn daily and open-toed shoes are not allowed because of mulch on the playground.

 

Personal Possessions

  • No music or smart devices, toys, or electronic games are allowed at camp.
